The Homeopathic College of Canada
In January 1992, the International Academy of Homeopathy and the
Toronto Homeopathic Clinic introduced the first Homeopathic
Practitioner programme in Canada. The programme was established in
order to meet the growing need for qualified practitioners taught
according to the principles of classical homeopathy. Since its
inception, the College has trained doctors, varied health care
practitioners and others in the theory and practice of classical
homeopathy.
In 1995, the Homeopathic College of Canada (HCC) was founded as a
non-profit educational institution. The College's objectives are to
establish the homeopathic profession in Canada and to foster
continuing education and research in the field of homeopathic
medicine. The HCC will continue to teach and promote education and
research in homeopathy throughout the world, to establish higher
educational standards and quality care through homeopathic medicine
and other adjunctive complementary approaches. Increased public
awareness and the demand for accessible and effective health care
have meant that the HCC has grown dramatically over the last few
years.
New Curriculum
The Homeopathic College of Canada has been a leader in homeopathic
education for over 22 years in North America and we continue to lead
and improve our systems of education. We are proud to announce a
major revision of our curricula. Our founding president wrote the
submission presented to the government for the regulation of
homeopathy in Ontario and as well authored the educational and
ethical standards. We understand the needs to educate successful
homeopaths to become proficient in homeopathy from the day they
start their clinical training. Therefore, not only we surpass the
standards but as well we have designed another first in the
formation of homeopaths. We are the only college in the western
world to integrate basic science studies (anatomy, physiology and
pathology) and clinical homeopathy with actual cases. This has been
only possible thanks to 22 years of accumulated clinical data from
our cured patients and having the most resourceful journals and
books from the classical homeopaths in the past centuries. This
integrated model, including standardized patients, has ensured to
move us into the new integrative medical models in medicine.
The revised curriculum for the professional DHMS program can be
completed in over three years, but opportunities exist for part-time
studies at Certificate and Diploma levels.
The School only takes twelve new full-time applicants for the DHMS
program each year and ensures personal education to guarantee the
excellence in Homeopathic training.
Prospective students are invited to contact us by email. The
Homeopathic College of Canada not only provides an education to
practice quality homeopathic care, but also is concerned with
developing future leaders of the profession. We are proud that our
graduates have created new schools in Toronto and across Canada, as
well as other countries. However, we are not working with any other
school, nor we are related to any other homeopathic organization in
Canada. This will change once homeopathy is regulated in Canada.
