Homeopathic Medical Council of Canada

The Homeopathic Medical Council of Canada (HMCC) was established in 1995 as a self-regulatory body for the re-emerging profession. Homeopathy is currently unregulated in Canada and many states in the USA. Students enrolled in any one or more of the programmes offered by the Homeopathic College of Canada (HCC) must become student members of the HMCC.
In 1859, Homeopathy was regulated in the province of Ontario, Canada. A homeopathic doctor required three years of training, including medical sciences, plus a clinical externship. The HMCC considers standards similar to those established in 1859 as the minimum standards to be implemented in Canada now. The HMCC accredits the professional programme offered by Homeopathic College of Canada (the only HMCC accredited school in Ontario) and other institutions with similar requirements nationally and internationally. HMCC's main objectives are to regulate and standardize the practice of Homeopathic Medicine in Canada.
